AS Naming the Magazine

I considered several names for the chosen genre of my magazine:

• Toxic
• Hooked
• Fusion
• Glory
• Scream&Shout

I decided to choose "Hooked" as my final name for the magazine, as I did a survey with all the above names as options and asked students from my class to choose one. The most preferred name was 'Hooked'.

AS Artist Case Study

I did a case study on an artist of my choice so that I can come to terms with the target audience, generic conventions and specific details on the audiences for the artist.

AS Preliminary Excercise

The preliminary exercise for this task was to produce the front cover and contents page of a school magazine.

These are the final drafts for the front cover and contents page. The name I decided on was "Ambition."

I received feedback on both the front cover and contents page. To improve the front cover the image had to be positioned in the center with the text justified to the right and left on either sides. The main image also should have made direct eye contact as this is a convention in many magazines. If the background was removed on the main image it would have stood out more.

To improve the contents page I should have aligned the 'Events' column and 'Secondary Profile' column so the page appeared more structured and organised. The page numbers should have been placed on all of the images rather than one or two.
